 Spring activities in France

Spring activities in FranceMy initial reaction when I got my first Louis Vuitton bag, “ahhh!!!”, and then silence. Well, I just shouted and fainted. Well, not literally but I fainted back in my soft mattress and rolled over and over again. And I called almost a hundred (of course this is an exaggeration) of friends and relatives all over Europe

Everybody is going crazy over France from North America continents to Asia. Everybody clamors about French bags, French dress, French fashion, French culture, French kiss (do I have to edit this?) to French windows! Anything French!

The season of spring is marked by the vernal equinox on March 21 every year. This year, the season was welcomed with hail of activities all over France and abroad for locals and tourists alike.

If conventional shopping, bar hopping and sightseeing is a far more tame activity for you and not to your liking then experience the highest of your emotions in spring season in France. France offers a lot of activities for the adventuresome spirited. It is not only a place for the glamorous and the party people but also for the sports minded people. It is indeed a surprisingly perfects place for paragliding, hand gliding and canoeing. A challenging mountain trek is also waiting for those who love an adventure on the mountain side.

Tough treks, breathtaking spectrum of colors, spectacular scenery and free roaming wildlife awaits those bicycle lovers.

Gr20 in Corsica welcomes the mountain hikers all over the world. GR20 means “grandee randonee” translated as ‘great trek’. The Hautes-Alpes and Corsica spots are the best for hand gliding and paragliding.

If those activities are far too extreme for you then why not take a plunge and learn how to swim and dive at Nico Plongee and get a diploma for those activities. What is nice hear is there are also activites for the kids! So, the whole family can join in the fun. Swimming Lessons start from March 15th to June 15th every year.

So, if going to Africa and swoon at all the Safari animals like crazy is your all time- Spring dream then you don’t have to cross borders to feel the Safari air. Everything is here in France. Celebrate the season of renewal here in France.

 A Very French Trip

To get to France is by no means difficult - from England you can drive, sail, fly or go by train (not to mention those who have swum the distance!). Bearing this ease of journey in mind, it is no wonder many people are chosing France as their escape destination when a break from the daily grind is necessary; everyone from the professional friends to the 2.4 children family to the newly retired couple are choosing France…so get involved!

They say change is a good as a rest and so make sure your holiday incorporates change from the routine - be it eating in typically French restaurants, enjoying French cinema (assuming your language skills are up to it!) or partaking in some of the local games nights (betting is very popular in France, it may not be for much but you will often see groups of retired people gambling the night away playing cards…why not brush up on your skills before the holiday playing poker online and really make a killing whilst away?). It’s great if you can go to a place where you already have contacts - doors open to you easier and you’ll see a different aspect to your destination of choice, not just the tourist hotspots - a local guide’s a great asset.

There is no need to spend much on your French holiday either - there is some beautiful scenery in this country - and a country walk’s free! The exercise is good for the soul and it is probably seldom the opporunity when you have a chance for a time out at home, taking in your surroundings. Too often people spend their holidays trying to get to as many tourist sites as possible, never truely relaxing.

Like we said, keep your French holiday French! Highlight, enjoy and embrace the change of culture. You’ll come back refreshed and this alone makes any holiday worthwhile, not matter what you get up to!
