Some Updates on France

FRANCE is said to be the most romantic country in the world. There are lots of romantic places in France like the Shakespearean Library, the Louvre, the Eiffel Tower and the Notre Dame Cathedral. They are all located in Paris by the way. Let’s talk about the Notre Dame Cathedral first. The Notre Dame Cathedral serves as the backdrop to the story and its spawned animated movie The Hunchback of Notre Dame. Just like other cathedrals in Europe which were constructed during the medieval times, the Notre Dame Cathedral is Gothic in architecture to lure non-Christian natives during that era to worship in it. The Hunchback of Notre Dame is set against the backdrop of the Notre Dame Cathedral and it was penned in 1841. It featured a hunchback living in the bell tower of the cathedral for fear of being ridiculed. The hunchback later fell in love.
This season is another opportunity for the French economy to be robust because Europeans will now be flocking France because of its proximity to the Alps. The Alps is where people, especially princes, statesmen, businessmen and celebrities converge, to experience and enjoy the snowy holidays in winter sports like skiing. Visitors here in France ultimately stay in hotels, motels, inns, lodges, cabins or condominiums. But since today is approaching winter, the hottest properties in town to stay are winter cabins. It’s real nice to stay in a winter cabin since sunrise will be filled with snowy flakes and the period between sunset and dusk will definitely be serene bordering on the eerie. There is a commanding view of the Alps range as each winter cabin is strategically constructed. Prices for staying in a cabin vary and are all negotiable. For those who are not so mushy and who want to be more practical, then a stay in a hotel is still in the offing. If one looks for a cheaper billet, then go for those motels. Just make sure they look presentable and don’t look like the ones rented by characters in cheap Hollywood slasher movies.
Another reason why there is an influx of tourists right now in France is because of Concorde is selling away numerous parts from their ill-fated jet model. Among the items to be sold via auction are flight instruments, oxygen masks, door leading to the baggage compartment, toilet seat and a two ton landing gear.
Even as France is noted for many tourists around the world, it has embarked on a green revolution. The legislature in France has recently passed a law increasing taxes for vehicles that drink too much gas. It has likewise lowers speed limits in all roads in the country. Grocery food is now labeled according to its toxicity. The law was passed in time for an environmental summit in October. The planned speed limit is only at ten kilometers per hour. The legislators are also calling for the building of prototype homes which can be self-sustaining in electricity. The legislators are not alone in their campaign. According to a survey conducted by a reputable private agency expert in the matter, 81 percent of the French, especially the farmers, are united in cutting down the use of pesticides at significant levels.
